Charlie Frey doesn't think he needs a housekeeper after his wife's death, but with his family falling apart, someone has to look after the house and listen to the dead woman who haunts them. lillibet: Festival@First 9: Call for Plays!

I know you'll all be excited to know that Festival@First will be returning in 2017! We're moving to The Rockwell (formerly the Davis Square Theatre) and you know what that means: air conditioning and booze!

But first we have to find the plays to make this happen. The theme is Boston History. We're looking for 10-minute plays somehow connected to the history of the Greater Boston area.

All the details are available on the website. The submission deadline is March 15th. Please spread the word!

PS: And have you bought tickets for Love's Labour's Lost (in Space) and signed up to audition for Tartuffe and put Bare Bones: The Housekeeper on your calendar, and thought about submitting a full-length work to FirstWorks, and figured out how you're volunteering to make these projects a success? There's a lot going on at T@F right now and we need your help to make them happen! Comment here or email me to get more involved.

lillibet: Sign up to audition for Love's Labour's Lost (in Space!)

Sign-ups are now open to audition for Love's Labour's Lost (in Space) on Monday, Aug 29 or Thursday, Sept 1 at Unity Somerville!

Are you a fan of the Bard, or of classic sci-fi tv? Actors are welcome to read for any role regardless of gender. Actors of color are strongly encouraged to audition.

In Love's Labour's Lost (in Space), Ferdinand of Space Station Navarre and his friends vow to avoid all terrestrial pleasures to pursue a life of study for the next three years. But when the spaceship of the Princess of Aquitaine and her ladies arrives, those oaths prove impossible to keep. Faithful to Shakespeare's text, our production will focus on the fantastic comedy of the script, while playing with the possibilities of setting the Bard in the vast beyond.

Mark your calendar now for our performances at Unity Somerville on Nov 11-18!
